Christchurch Police investigating death

Christchurch Police have confirmed they are investigating the death of a woman in the suburb of Spreydon.

Police were called to an address in the suburb at approximately 5.30pm today, and found the body of a woman at the property.

Detective Senior Sergeant Greg Murton says Police are speaking to a male found at the address in relation to the incident.

A scene examination is under way and Police are expected to remain at the location overnight.

No further comment will be made by Police tonight. Further updates will be issued tomorrow.
