Council has received complaints regarding dogs being walked in and around Prospero Place and footpaths along Broadway between the roundabouts within the central retail shopping area. Dog owners are reminded that this area is off limits for dogs.

Almost all central retail areas have similar restrictions and they are in place to protect both dogs and the wider public. The current problem has been made worse by dog faeces being left on the footpath.

The Central Retail area is monitored by Compliance Officers and Police. If your dog is in any of these areas you can expect to be issued an infringement notice of $200.

Please note it is also an offence to use skateboards and bicycles in these areas. Any bicycles or skateboards being ridden in Prospero Place or on the footpath between the roundabouts can be seized.
