Porirua Police seeking witnesses to serious assault early yesterday morning

Porirua Police are seeking witnesses to a serious assault at the Waitangirua Mall in the early hours of yesterday morning (Saturday 1 October 2011).

Detective James Withington of the Porirua CIB says at about 2.30am yesterday morning, several males were involved in a fight in the car park at the Waitangirua Mall.

“As a result of the fight, a 23 year old man is currently in Wellington Hospital with multiple facial injuries.”

Detective Withington says Police would like to hear from anyone who has any information about a red four door sedan vehicle, which was seen leaving the Mall soon after the incident. It has been described as similar to a mid-1990’s Nissan Skyline or Toyota Celia.

“We would also like to speak to the occupants of this vehicle which include two men and four women.”
