Tourism New Zealand organised a half-day hosting last week of a group of international film industry journalists. The journalists were here for a four-day The Hobbit trip courtesy of Warner Bros.

The group included media from France, Germany, Italy, and the UK, as well as Warner Bros. The half-day tour included visiting scenic Wellington locations that featured in the award-winning The Lord of the Rings trilogy such as Kaitoke Regional Park (Rivendell) and Harcourt Park (the 'Gardens of Isengard' and home of the famous Orc trees) in Upper Hutt.

As well as exploring the locations, the group was given information on New Zealand's history, culture and film industry.

The hosting not only showcased New Zealand as a stunning film location, but also helped Tourism New Zealand strengthen its relationship with Warner Bros. by exploring future opportunities during the filming of The Hobbit.
