Wet Weather Driving Conditions
Police are asking all drivers to take extra care with the current wet weather conditions. Acting Senior Sergeant Mark Holmes of the Western Bay of Plenty Road Policing unit said that road conditions and visibility can change very quickly as persistent rain falls on the district's state highways
Mr Holmes said drivers need to reduce their speed and increase their following distances and drive with headlights on. He also urged all drivers to take extreme care as the risk of losing control in the slippery conditions was high.
