Cannabis operation located in house basement

At about 6.00pm last night, 4 October, Tauranga Police executed a search warrant at a residential address in Cheyne Road, Pyes Pa.

At the address, Police located a sophisticated cannabis growing operation, concealed in the basement at the house.

A large number (in excess of 80) cannabis plants, at various stages of cultivation were located together with a quantity of dried cannabis plant material.

The scene was locked down by Police and a scene guard was put in place overnight.

The scene will be fully examined today.

A 39 year old Tauranga man has been arrested and will appear in the Tauranga District court today.
