Porirua Police investigating a serious assault in the carpark area of Waitangirua Mall in the early hours of last Saturday morning have released a CCTV image of two females they'd like to identify and speak to.

Detective Sergeant Steve Dunn of the Porirua CIB says the 23 year old victim was left with serious head and facial injuries following an altercation with two males and a female about 2.30am on Saturday 1 October.

"In this CCTV image, there are two females walking near a male. We would like to identify these women and speak to them in relation to this incident. Police are not seeking the male in the image though."

Detective Sergeant Dunn hopes these women will be able to assist Police with their ongoing enquiries.

"The 23 year old victim has undergone substantial facial reconstruction surgery at Hutt Hospital. We are continuing to investigate what was a vicious attack and urge anyone with any information to come forward as soon as possible."

Police still want to hear from anyone who either witnessed the assault or can identify two males and four females who left the area a short time after the incident, in what has been described as a red four door sedan vehicle, similar to a mid-1990’s Nissan Skyline or Toyota Celia.

Anyone with any information should contact the Porirua Police on (04) 238 1400 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
