Delays on Wellington roads

Police advise motorists to expect delays when travelling over Haywards Hill for the next couple of hours due to an accident.

Traffic travelling North on State Highway one are advised to expect lengthy delays around the area of McKays Crossing on the Kapiti Coast due to urgent road repairs being carried out. The recent weather has caused some large potholes to develop which are causing a hazard to traffic. The northbound lanes will be closed until about 4pm today when the lefthand lane should be able to be re-opened. Police are urging drivers to exercise patience and to plan their travel to allow for delays of around an hour if travelling through this area in either direction.
