Fatal vehicle crash

Police, Fire and Ambulance are at the scene of a fatal motor vehicle crash on State Highway 1, St Andrews, South Canterbury.

A vehicle has collided with a large sheep truck and trailer.

The state highway is closed for both north and south bound traffic, with a detour in place.

The detour will be signposted with police staff directing traffic. It is a short detour and should not add too much extra time for motorists travelling through the area.

Motorists are urged to take care in the area and follow the directions of police staff.
