Burst of heavy rain on Saturday for the West Coast

WEST COAST

MetService is warning of an active front crossing the country during
Saturday,preceded by strong northerlies and a band of rain.
Heaviest rain is likely to be in the Westland ranges where up to
100mm is possible in about 12 hours or less, between 9am and 9pm.
People in the area are advised to watch for rapidly rising streams
and rivers and to stay up to date with the latest forecasts.
