WELLINGTON CITY

You may have heard about the Council's decision to keep the waterfront FANZONE operating until the end of Rugby World Cup 2011 - it's true, we're going to continue the celebrations in style.

Here's the lowdown on how the final two weeks of the tournament are shaping up in Wellington.

Last weekend - the quarter-finals - was huge and the city should be very proud of how we've hosted teams and visitors during the first four weeks of the tournament.

For the last two weeks of RWC 2011, things will be different but you'll still be able to check out the tournament action and some great events.

The semi-finals, Bronze Final and Final will be shown on big screens in both the waterfront FANZONE and the Town Hall.

The FANZONE will only open for game screenings. As with the pool stages of RWC 2011, capacity at the FANZONE will be limited so we recommend you get there early to catch the matches. The area will be licensed and there will be some on-screen and roving entertainment.

The Town Hall will remain a great family-friendly, warm and dry option to watch matches and enjoy pre-game entertainment that will reflect the playing nations.

With the FANZONE remaining in operation, and many great events still on around the city, there are still plenty of chances to enjoy some of the best of Wellington under the Festival of Carnivale banner.

For information on what's on, check the Festival beacons around the CBD or check out the weekly listings:
