Serious Assault in Waitakere

Waitakere CIB is investigating the serious assault of a 24 year old male in Kelston.

At about 5.50am on Thursday 13th of October 2011 a collision occurred between a silver Nissan sedan and a White Isuzu van at the intersection of West Coast Rd and Great North Rd in West Auckland.

When the male driver of the Nissan got out of his vehicle to check on the driver of the other vehicle he has been approached by two males and seriously assaulted.

The male has sustained significant injuries after being punched and kicked while on the ground. He’s since been discharged from Greenlane hospital but will require further medical attention.

Police believe that the Nissan may have been traveling in the area with a dark coloured sedan prior to the collision.

Police want to speak with anyone who may have observed the silver Nissan or the dark coloured sedan traveling west along Great North Rd prior to the accident.
