Police assist three in harbour as weather worsens

Police and Coastguard have so far assisted three people in difficulty on the inner harbour; one in a kayak, one in a dinghy with a broken oar and one on a surf board. All have managed to return safely to shore.
A spokesman from the police maritime unit said that people are just getting the small things wrong and misjudging the conditions.
With conditions expected to worsen people are asked to check forecasts, take extra precautions and avoid going out on the water where possible. It is not a nice day to be out there.
