The Metservice has forecast heavy rain for the Canterbury region, particularly areas south of the Rakaia River, through to midday tomorrow, Wednesday (19th October).
The forecast rain may result in some minor surface runoff flooding in parts of the region however Environment Canterbury does not expect problems to arise in any of the rivers or major streams.
Environment Canterbury will continue to monitor the situation until the rainfall eases and liaise with Civil Defence.
