Couple being interviewed following discovery of cannabis in west Waikato

Two people are assisting Waikato Police with their enquiries following the early morning search of a rural property west of Te Awamutu today.

Te Awamutu detectives, assisted by members of the Waikato Armed Offenders Squad, went to the Smith Rd property in Te Pahu at first light in relation to alleged drug activity.

A small number of cannabis plants were found growing inside the dwelling and a man and a woman from the property are currently being interviewed by Police in relation to cannabis cultivation.
