Body in Heathcote River

At approximately 8.30 this morning (31/10/11) a body was discovered in the Heathcote River in the Rutherford Street area, Christchurch. Police are at the scene and are investigating. No further information is available at this time

As a result Rutherford Street (SH74A) has been closed between Ferry Road and Lane Street.

The public are requested to avoid this area if possible, and delays can be expected.
