A new visitor experience 'Rotorua Spa Stories' was launched this week.

Visitors to Rotorua can now combine two unique world-class attractions and discover the great story that links the two.

Rotorua Museum and Polynesian Spa have developed a combined experience, Rotorua Spa Stories, where visitors can enjoy our world-class museum with one of the world’s top ten spas.

Polynesian Spa managing director Martin Lobb says bringing the two experiences together makes so much sense.

"Not only are we neighbours, so visitors can easily walk between the two activities, but there are strong historical links as well."

When the Bath House, now home to Rotorua Museum, first opened in 1908 as a therapeutic spa facility, it drew thermal waters for its range of treatments from both the Rachel and Priest Pools located in Government Gardens.

Polynesian Spa visitors are still able to bathe in the thermal waters from both the Priest and Rachel Pools, and it still provides relaxing therapies, including Aix massage, which was historically provided at the Bath House.

Rotorua Museum's innovative displays and exciting cinema experience portray the historical story of spa treatments in Rotorua, particularly those that took place at the Bath House.

Original in-situ treatment rooms and mud baths in the steamy basement are all part of the experience. A free gift is also part of the package – either the beautiful 'Taking the Cure' book about the history of the Rotorua Bath House, or a lovely pack of Polynesian Spa bath salts.

Adult packages start from $32.50. Family packages for two adults and up to four children start from $76.
