Fatal crash on State Highway 2

At about midday on Saturday 5 November 2011 Police attended a fatal crash on State Highway 2 south of Carterton.

The crash involved two vehicles. The circumstances of the crash were that a south bound Holden Calais vehicle towing a tandem trailer has collided with a northbound motorcycle. The motorcyclist, a 42 year old Masterton man, died at the scene.

All emergency services attended the scene (Police/Fire Ambulance). The State Highway was closed for approximately four hours while the Wellington Serious Crash unit conducted a scene examination.
