Police release photo used in online sexual offending

CHRISTCHURCH

Christchurch Police have released a photograph allegedly used by a 27-year old Christchurch man arrested last week on charges related to sexual exploitation and offending online.

Cameron Stuart Hore, of Christchurch, was arrested last week and charged with sexual exploitation, obtaining by deception and sexual grooming through online internet contact.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at the District Court, sitting in Christchurch men's prison, on 22 November.

Detective Sergeant Scott Anderson of Christchurch South Police says the photo released today was used on a Facebook page in the name of Sarah Ruddenklau.

"The offender posed as Sarah Ruddenklau to strike up online relationships with unsuspecting males," says Detective Sergeant Anderson.

"At this stage we don't know who this person is, or whether there is any connection to the name that was used.

"If anyone can identify the person in this photograph we would be very interested in hearing from them."

The alleged offender also used the fictitious name of 'Dan McPherson' to arrange to meet people that he had contacted online.

Detective Sergeant Anderson says after the arrest was publicised in news media last week Police received useful information from the public, which is now being followed up.
