Telecom announced today the four charities voted by Xtra customers to
receive a share of $1 million.

The successful charities (in alphabetical order) are:

• Child Cancer Foundation (Inc)
• National Heart Foundation of NZ
• RSPCA – Royal New Zealand Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to
Animals
• World Vision NZ

Xtra customers were encouraged to vote for their charity of choice
following difficulties customers faced during the introduction of new
email services; each charity will receive $250,000.

We are delighted to make this donation to such worthy charities said
Telecom’s GM Consumer Marketing David Craig.

“Thanks go to the thousands of Xtra customers who voted for a charity –
there were hundreds of charitable organisations that received votes.
Congratulations to each of the four successful charities, we know these
funds will go to excellent use,” said Mr Craig.

Telecom’s Charity Vote was open for three weeks and finished midnight on
Sunday 30 September. The Charity Vote process and vote counting was
overseen by Ernst & Young Limited.
