Tragic morning

There have been a number of tragic events this morning

The car Vs truck collision in Pakaraka, Northland has left the male driver of the motor vehicle deceased and the female passenger with critical injuries. Both had to be cut from their vehicle.

A Mother and her 3 year old son are deceased after a collision between their car and a truck in Huntly. The truck driver tried to take evasive action to avoid the collision. The serious crash unit is investigating

A female quad bike rider is in a serious condition after colliding with a truck and was flown by rescue helicopter to Waikato Hospital.

And in a fourth collision between a motor vehicle and a truck in the Whakatane District, the driver of the car was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

In addition to the above, a female pedestrian is deceased after being struck by a passenger train in Melvelle, Hamilton. Police investigating confirm there doesn't appear any suspicious circumstances and are not looking for anyone else. The matter will be reported to the Coroner.
