Paihia residents should be vigilant for discoloured tap water next week.

Far North District Council contractor Transfield Services is conducting a flushing exercise to remove any sediment that may have built up in the council’s water reticulation network.

People won’t be without water during the exercise, which will be carried out late at night.

However, they may notice water is discoloured afterwards.

They are advised to run their taps for a few minutes after pipes in their area have been flushed.

Transfield will flush pipes in:

  • Central Paihia (Bay View to Sea View Rd including School Road) on Monday November 28 from 11pm
  • Waitangi on Tuesday November 29 from 11pm
  • Haruru Falls on Wednesday November 30 from 11pm
  • Te Haumi on Thursday December 1 from 11pm
  • Ward Drive and Veronica Drive on Friday December 2 from 11pm

The exercise is part of Transfield’s routine maintenance of the water supply
