Five people have been arrested in an ongoing Police operation across the Hutt Valley to stamp out organised crime and drugs.

Detective Senior Sergeant Scott Cooper says Police across the Valley executed three search warrants in Lower Hutt and two in Upper Hutt yesterday.

Three Lower Hutt men aged 22, 39 and 65 years are jointly charged with cultivation of cannabis. A 42 year old Upper Hutt woman is charged with possession of cannabis for supply and a 24 year old Upper Hutt man faces charges including possession of cannabis and utensils.

"At one Lower Hutt address, we recovered more than 80 cannabis plants and a further 75 cannabis seedlings as well as a quantity of dried cannabis."

D/S/S Cooper says, “The search warrants executed yesterday are part of an ongoing crackdown by Police in the Hutt Valley to target organised crime and drug activity and drug dealers not yet caught should expect a knock on the door from us soon."
