Holiday road toll at 1

Police are currently at the scene of a fatal crash involving a male motorcyclist in the Northbound Lanes of the Southern Motorway in the Papakura area.

Due to the extent of the crash scene the Northbound lanes will be closed from Papakura to Manurewa while the scene is investigated and debri cleared.

Traffic is being diverted north along Great South Road.

Police are speaking to witnesses in an attempt to establish the cause of the crash. Further details will be released in due course.
