WELLINGTON CITY

Live in or near Johnsonville? You might want to be part of our consultation on the future expansion of Johnsonville Library.

Johnsonville needs a bigger library because the population it serves has already grown beyond our expectations and is expected to increase.

We will include a proposal in next year's Long Term Plan - where Councillors look at what we can afford over the next 10 years. But before we do that, we want your input on the preferred site.

There are four options: keep the library where it is (Broderick Road); move the library to the new mall once it's redeveloped; move the library to the Mobil site on the corner of Moorefield and Johnsonville roads; or place it next to the swimming pool and community centre. The fourth option includes the opportunity to create an integrated community hub out of all of those services.

We have a preferred option - the last one. This doesn't mean that's going to be the chosen one, but we'd like to create a community hub in Johnsonville, as we see it developing as a major town centre in the future.

To have your say, you can fill out the feedback form attached to the consultation document and Freepost it back to us, or give us your feedback online:
