Whitebaiter swept to death

Shortly after 1310hrs today a male whitebaiter was swept to his death from the mouth of the Hokitika River. Emergency response including helicopters - I.R.Bs' and Police personal were unable to save the male.
His body was located a short time later.
Hokitika Police are dealing with this death
