With profits of copies sold going to the Adverse Events Trust charity administered by Federated Farmers, the Federation is proud to endorse Dr Katherine Tozer’s beautifully photographed and written Tales from the Back Country.

Tales from the Back Country is a superbly photographed representation of back country farming,” says Bruce Wills, Federated Farmers President.

“Dr Katherine Tozer works for AgResearch, so it has been written by someone who understands and appreciates farming.

“All profit from Tales from the Back Country sold by Federated Farmers will go to the Adverse Events Trust, a registered charity which supports rural communities following an adverse event, such as a snowstorm or an earthquake.

“Since the first earthquake last September, Christchurch has also been a huge recipient of hundreds of thousands of Adverse Event funds, which complemented the work done by hundreds of volunteers in the Farmy Army.

“With photographs showing some of New Zealand’s finest landscapes at their best and full of true stories of shepherds, musterers, drovers and farmers, this book is a wonderful Christmas gift idea.

“The tales Dr Tozer has found appeal to anyone interested in rural New Zealand, high country life or the environment.

“At just $25, this book is an affordable stocking filler and with all profits going to the Adverse Events Trust it’s a perfect win-win,” Mr Wills concluded.

Tales from the Back Country can be bought from Federated Farmers either by calling 0800 327 646 or by going to www.fedfarm.org.nz/ourshop and selecting Guides, books and reports.
