Bus crash - heavy traffic congestion

Police, Fire and Ambulance are currently attending a motor vehicle crash in Dunedin on Ravensbourne Road, State Highway 88, between Dunedin and Port Chalmers, where a bus is believed to have collided with a wall.

The bus was not carrying passengers at the time of the crash, and the bus driver is believed to have suffered minor to moderate injuries.

Eastbound traffic (Dunedin to Port Chalmers) is extremely congested and motorists are encouraged to delay their travels in that direction, or use alternative routes, as it will likely take one and a half hours to have both lanes fully open again.
