Chapman Tripp is pleased to announce the appointment of a new Partner, Garth Gallaway, in the firm’s Christchurch office, effective 12 December 2011.

Garth is one of the South Island’s leading litigators and a well-known personality. His extensive experience in insurance related litigation and work for numerous insurance companies and underwriters, particularly in relation to professional indemnity, statutory liability and public liability insurance complements and extends Chapman Tripp’s existing South Island practice.

Garth has a broad civil litigation practice and has appeared before all levels of the court system and before numerous specialist tribunals. He frequently acts for solicitors, accountants, real estate agents, valuers and a range of organisations in professional negligence proceedings.

In addition to his litigation experience, Garth has extensive experience in alternative dispute resolution, especially mediation.

He joins Chapman Tripp following 10 years as a Partner at DuncanCotterill.

Chapman Tripp’s Christchurch office now numbers six partners and 14 other lawyers.
