Councillor Terry Sloan is the Marlborough District Council’s new appointment to Sport Tasman.

He replaces Robin Carr who has been one of the two Council representatives since 2007.
Councillor Sloan has represented Marlborough in rugby and soccer and is a former sports administrator who takes an active interest in cycling, and is chairman of Bike Walk Marlborough.

Sport Tasman is a regional sports trust which the Council supports through an annual financial grant.

It’s one of 17 regional sports trusts across the country, set up to encourage more people into physical recreation and sport. Tasman, Buller and Kaikoura District Councils, and Nelson City Council are already represented on the Sport Tasman board, alongside top-of-the-south community representatives.
