Tauranga Police seek Bethlehem hair salon robber

At approximately 1.15 p.m., today the premises of Bethlehem Hair Design, SH2, Bethlehem, was the subject of a Robbery.

Police confirm that an employee has disturbed a male person at the rear of the store in the process of going through the victim's handbag. As he was confronted the offender has pushed the victim up against a wall and run from the rear of the premises towards Carmichael Road, Tauranga along the trade access way.

He is described as:

Male
Maori
Aged 28 - 30 years old
190 cms in height
Clean-shaven
Long sideburns
A teardrop tattoo under his left eye

He was wearing:

An Adidas dark blue full tracksuit with stripes

Police would like to hear from any persons who can assist in identifying the male offender.

Senior Sergeant Pakes stated that this was a timely reminder to be extra vigilant around store security at this time of the year and if members of the public are concerned at any time – be it over suspicious activity, dangerous driving, or disorderly behavior – they should not hesitate to contact the Police, either by dialing 111 or by calling the local Police station.
