High wind warning makes road to dangerous to negotiate

The winds in the Dannevirke region have now become too extreme for trucks to safely negotiate this area. A number of accidents are being reported along with the damage to houses.
Consideration is being given to closing this stretch of road and police are advising all truck drivers to use an alternative route until further notice.
