Papamoa Beach - Shark seen

A shark estimated by locals to be up to 2 metres in length has been seen at the eastern side of Papamoa beach by the boat ramp 20 mins ago.

The shark came up to within 10 metres of the shoreline whilst up to 20 people were line fishing in the area at the time. They have now stopped and moved away.

People are cautioned to stay away from this area for now.
