QUEENSTOWN

Dozens of kids were delighted by a surprise helicopter visit from both Santa and Paddles the Polar Bear at the Lakes Leisure School Holiday Programme today.

The kids were outside having lunch when staff suggested that if the kids sing Christmas carols loud enough Santa might hear them and come pay them a visit.

After a few boisterous rounds of “Jingle Bells” and other melodies, a Helicopter Line helicopter arrived on the main oval of the Queenstown Events Centre.

Both Paddles the Polar Bear and Santa emerged from the helicopter to give the children some gifts, take their photos and hear the children’s Christmas wishes.

The kids exuberantly their visitors sang some more Christmas carols and hugged them goodbye before they had to depart to visit other children in the Southern Lakes region.

Lakes Leisure’s School Holiday Programme will be operating from January 4-27, 2012. For further details, click here.
