Waitara - Fatal Crash

Police are attending a fatal crash on State Highway 3 South of Waitara (Taranaki).

A woman is dead after a car and a light truck collided on State Highway 3 near the intersection of Richmond Road shortly after midday today.

The deceased was the only occupant of the vehicle. There were two occupants of the light truck, who were uninjured.

It is too early to determine the cause of the crash; however speed and alcohol are not believed to be factors.

Diversions are in place around the scene, and the Police Serious Crash Unit is conducting a scene examination.
