Wairoa Police dealing with an Aggravated Robbery

At 4.50 pm on Wednesday the 4th of January 2012 a 21 year old female visitor to Wairoa was surrounded by a group of male youths on Marine Parade.

The victim had personal property demanded from her and when she refused to hand over the property one of the group grabbed items from her. The offenders were wearing gang colours.

Police a short time later located and arrested 9 youths aged between 12 and 16 years. Five will be appearing in the Wairoa Youth Court on Aggravated Robbery charges with the other four being referred to Youth Aid.
