Police have released the name of a woman found in Grays Road, Christchurch yesterday.

Detective Inspector Le Bas says that, although a formal identification has not yet been completed, the deceased woman is believed to be Tracey Lee Morris, a 46 year old from Papanui.

A forensic post mortem examination will be conducted this morning.

The investigation team have been speaking to people who are Tracey's friends and associates including work colleagues from the Phoenix Bar, Main North Road, Christchurch. "Tracey worked as a barmaid at the Phoenix Bar and was also patron there", says Detective Inspector Le Bas. The investigation team will continue to speak with associates and friends to establish Tracey's movements leading up to her death.

"The information we have to date is that Tracey was last seen on the afternoon of Tuesday, 3 January 2012, at the Phoenix Bar.

"We request the assistance of people who know Tracey to come forward and to provide information as to her whereabouts in the following days."

The movements of Tracey's blue Honda Civic, registration RN7333, also has significance in that this is where she was located.

A forensic examination of Tracey's car will be conducted, along with a wider area search around the Grays Road area.

The Police investigation team request the assistance of the public in bringing forward any information they may have in relation to Tracey or her vehicle.

Information should be directed to Christchurch Central Police Station Ph: 3637400, Operation Gray investigation.
