RAGLAN

At about 9.47 pm on Sunday 8 January a woman was seen walking across Wainui Bridge at Raglan. A grey sedan stopped beside her and a verbal altercation occurred. The car has left then the woman jumped from the bridge into the water. The car has then returned to the bridge stopping at the southern side of the bridge for about five minutes then driven off again.

The tide was near high tide at the time.

Raglan Police, Coast Guard, Surf Life Saving and Police SAR searched the water and surrounding land for about 2.5 hrs but did not locate the woman.

It is not known whether the woman exited the water.

Raglan Police want to speak to the driver of the grey sedan on the bridge, the woman who jumped from the bridge, and anyone who may have witnessed this or have information as to the identity of these two people.
