Crash Victim's Family Seek Privacy

<p>Police seek the support of media in respecting the privacy and recognising the grief process of the family and friends of Shaun Fitzpatrick who died after a car crash on January 7.<br /> <br /> Media can support the family and friends by not contacting them.<br /> <br /> Police are continuing their investigation into the death of 22 year old Shaun Fitzpatrick in a car crash on Saturday January 7 at the intersection of Carbine Road and the South Eastern Highway.<br /> <br /> As part of that investigation a white motor vehicle was seized from a South Auckland address.<br /> <br /> It is believed that vehicle was driven at speed through the intersection moments before the fatal crash involving Mr Fitzpatrick and a stolen Subaru.<br /> <br /> A 17 year old youth from South Auckland is due to appear in Auckland District Court on Thursday January 12 charged with Dangerous Driving.<br /> <br /> Police are yet to complete their investigation of the crash. Following that there will be a review of all evidence including the charge of dangerous driving. It is possible further charges will be laid.<br /> <br /> <br /> &nbsp;</p>
