Drowning North of Waihi Beach, Coromandel, Bay of Plenty
At about 7pm this evening Police were alerted to a water incident north of Wahi Beach, Coromandel.
A boat from the Waihi Beach Surf Club was dispatched and located the body of a male floating some 200 meters from the land in Homunga Bay.
The male has been recovered and brought back to Waihi Beach.
Enquires to identify the male and the circumstances surrounding his drowning are being made by local Police.
No further comment will be made until these enquires are completed.
