Background:

Auckland Council has developed the first Auckland-wide draft plan to deal with waste in Auckland.

To help Council succeed, we need to:

· deliver waste services more efficiently

· find better ways to recover and re-use resources, and

· send less waste to landfill.

Auckland Council is proposing a range of streamlined services and new initiatives to meet these objectives. And we'd like to know what you think about them.

Having your say:

To find out more about the draft Waste Management and Minimisation Plan and to make a submission you can, attend one of the community information sessions outline above, or visit www.aucklandcouncil.govt.nz/wasteplan .

Submissions close 4pm, 31 January 2012.
