Missing Swimmer

A search continues today for a missing swimmer, last seen in the water at Titahi Bay beach yesterday afternoon.

Police received multiple calls just before 4:00pm yesterday that several people had to be rescued after getting into difficulty.

It has been reported that a 24 year old male, from Porirua has not come out of the water.

Teams of searches including Police, Land Search and Rescue (Land SAR volunteers), Surf Life Saving New Zealand, the Coastguard and the Westpac Rescue Helicopter are conducting extensive aerial, water and shoreline searches.
