Two in hospital after aircraft crash

10:40 Police are currently attending an incident at the Omaka Airfield near Blenheim where it is believed a light aircraft has crashed landed into a riverbed near the airfield immediately after takeoff.

Two occupants from the aircraft have been transported to Wairau Hospital by ambulance.

The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time.
