WELLINGTON CITY

Check out the exhibition Unveiled: 200 Years of Wedding Fashion from the Victoria and Albert Museum, London - for free.

It's here again - the day all Wellington City residents get to see the big exhibition at Te Papa for free. This time it's for Unveiled - a wedding exhibition. The gallery space is full of silks, Victorian lace, exquisite shoes, hats and other wedding-related paraphernalia - some dating from the 1800s.

You'll know some of the names as well - Vivienne Westwood, Christian Lacroix and our very own WORLD, to name a few.

Entry to the exhibtion on Level 4 is free on Thursday 23 February, from 10.00am to 9.00pm.

The free entry offer is part of our sponsorship agreement with Te Papa, and it's also a chance to thank ratepayers for your ongoing contributions to our national museum.

To gain entry, all you need to do is provide proof of address. This can be a utilities bill, your rates bill or your Wellington City Libraries card.

Anyone working or otherwise engaged during the day will be pleased to know Te Papa is open until 9.00pm - so no one misses out. Be prepared for queues - there has often been up to an hour's wait for entry on previous 'free' days.
