TAWA

Porirua Police continuing to investigate the aggravated robbery of the Tawa Central Dairy on Sunday night have released CCTV images of the offender and images of clothing recovered after the incident.

Detective James Withington of the Porirua CIB says Police are grateful for the amount of information already received from the Tawa community, but are keen to hear from anyone who may recognise the offender in the attached CCTV images or recognise the two items of clothing recovered by Police after the aggravated robbery.

"We know that after the offender presented a knife at the diary owner, at around 8pm on Sunday 12 February, he then ran towards the New World building site before discarding a jacket and a hooded sweatshirt near the Tawa Railway Station. He was last seen wearing a dark loose-fitting singlet and black jeans with shoulder-length hair, running on Duncan Street towards Taylor Terrace."

Detective Withington says someone in the Tawa area will recognise this offender or his distinctive hooded sweatshirt he wore, and urges anyone with any information to come forward as soon as possible.

"Anyone with any information should contact us on (04) 238 1400 or phone Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
