Liquor seized in search warrant execution

At about 3.00pm Friday 17.02.2012 Police executed a search warrant under the Sale of Liquor Act on a commercial premise in Birch Avenue.

Police have seized a large quantity of alcohol from the premises which they believe was to be illegally sold.
One man was arrested for obstruction during the execution of the search warrant.

Inspector Karl WRIGHT –ST CLAIR said “Police will be making further enquiries in relation to the illegal sale of alcohol at the premises and it is likely charges under the Sale of Liquor Act will follow”.

Police expect to be at the premise for some time and no further comment will be made at this stage.
