Bayfair gives local netball fans the opportunity to meet netball stars
On Friday 2 March, a collection of the world’s top netball players will descend on the TECT Arena at Baypark for three days of premier netball action when Tauranga hosts the official 2012 ANZ Championship Pre-Season Tournament. Bayfair is giving 50 lucky netball fans aged 4 to 12 years the chance to be involved in this exciting tournament by commissioning a live draw in conjunction with Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic to select ball carriers and coin tossers for the 25 games that will be held over the course of the event.
Nina Rivett, marketing manager for Bayfair, is thrilled to offer this unique chance to local children in what is sure to be a momentous occasion for any young netball fan.
“Children may remember events like this for the rest of their lives and being amongst their sporting idols is a fabulous opportunity. We only wish we could accept every child who enters the draw.”
The live draw will take place at Bayfair on Saturday 25 February at 1pm outside Farmers to select the 50 children. One supervising adult of each winner will be given a free ticket to attend the event and watch their child carry the match ball to centre court or toss the coin in front of the two competing team captains.
“National players from New Zealand, Australia, the UK and Jamaica will be included in the ten franchise teams that make up the competition,” said Christine Buckley, marketing manager for the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic. “This event is unique and thanks to Bayfair the lucky winners will have the chance to meet their sporting heroes.”
With Silver Ferns such as Katrina Grant, Casey Williams, Irene Van Dyk, Leana de Bruin and Laura Langman in attendance, the weekend promises to be full of high-calibre action.
Any children and their guardians that are interested in this fantastic opportunity can enter online at www.bayfair.co.nz or by delivering a written entry to customer service staff at the Bayfair Information Desk outside Kmart. Entries close at 12pm on Saturday 25 February. Entries must include the child’s name, age and address, and their guardian’s name and contact phone number.
