ROTORUA

Rotorua Police are asking people to be on the lookout for a red Massey Ferguson ride-on mower that was stolen from Piako Tractors in Te Ngae Rd during Tuesday night, 21 February.

Rotorua Police Acting Senior Sergeant, Mike Membery, says the mower was taken some time between 6pm on Tuesday evening and 6:40am on Wednesday morning.

"This is a sizeable piece of equipment and Piako Tractors is in a high-profile location on Te Ngae Rd so there is a high chance that someone saw the mower being taken that night.

"Up to three people may have been needed to move or carry the mower and this activity may have looked extremely suspicious.

"If you have any information about this theft, or know where the mower might be now, please contact Rotorua Police on 07 348 0099. Alternatively, people can provide information anonymously via the independent Crimestoppers line on 0800 555 111."

Acting Senior Sergeant Membery says the mower is worth approximately $5000.
