Deputy mayor on Maori trade delegation to India

Rotorua Deputy Mayor Trevor Maxwell is part of a Maori trade delegation which left this week for two weeks in India to enhance business, cultural and educational relations between India and New Zealand, from a Maori perspective.

The delegation is made up of Maori academics, scientists, community leaders, artists and business people representing various Maori Trusts .

A key objective of the delegation is attendance at the Fourth International Conference of the Elders of Ancient Traditions and Cultures in the Indian city of Haridwar.

Other business meetings are being facilitated by the World Hindu Economic Forum.
