Police attending armed incident in Silverstream

Police are currently attending an armed incident in Whitemans Valley Road, Silverstream where a man in his forties is reported to have discharged a firearm at a rural address.

Cordons have been put in place in the area and a large number of Police staff, including Armed Offenders Squad (AOS) members are currently at the scene.

Police are warning residents in the Whitemans Valley Road area to stay indoors at this time.

Police have also advised Mangaroa School of the incident.
